The position will primarily be responsible for fueling data driven decision making at Goodyear. This includes championing data analytics and tools available with the APAC regional teams as well as developing custom analytics for India. This includes the entire gamut of data analysis from basic descriptive data analysis to using advanced predictive techniques. Data storytelling is a key aspect of the role as the analytics will need to be connected to the business strategy and drive actions.

 
A secondary objective of the role is to assist with market research initiatives in line with the APAC and India business strategy. This again includes repurposing consumer insights available in other APAC regions as well as customized India customer/consumer insights generation. This role encompasses all phases of research along the brand's lifecycle continuum, including brand tracking, segmentation and positioning, brand health and product life cycle management activities.
The role will report to the VP - Consumer PBU and will work closely to define the India Insights & Analytics strategy.

 

All of the above will require:
1.    Working closely with in-market teams, cross functional teams (e.g. Supply chain, Trade Marketing etc. ), and data/research agencies
2.    Presenting data and insights to the stakeholders.
3.    Planning, budgeting, and engaging with procurement for RFPs and payments.
4.    Ensure continuous alignment and strategic partnership with APAC, India, and Country Marketing and Executive Leadership

 

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

 

Retail data analysis:

  1. Analyze 3rd party sourced retail data (e.g. GfK Retail data) to diagnose business performance challenges, identify whitespaces and growth opportunities, and monitor competitor activities.

  2. Develop thoughtful analysis approach to solve problems and validate the opportunity

  3. Develop automated tools to analyze retail data (or champion usage of tools already available with the regional teams)

  4. Lead, coach, and influence country and regional multi-function teams to identify prioritised segments and support growth opportunity

 

Implement Regional tools and build custom data analysis tools for India, to drive business growth:

  1. Support implementation of global/regional data analytics tools to  India market (E.g. Identification of high priority stores and evaluating their opportunity size)

  2. Process and combine various data sets to generate insights that enable identification of growth opportunities and business prioritization.

 

Industry forecasts:

  1. Use macroeconomic and Car/Tire industry data to develop tire industry forecasts for short to medium term

  2. Track this data on a monthly basis to keep the annual forecasts up to date

  3. Work with 3rd party agencies and the Goodyear market stakeholders to collect information and sharpen the forecasts

 

Ad hoc data analytics:

  1. From time to time, there will be new analytics requests such as media ROI assessment and marketing mix optimization, Pricing and Promotions analytics, assortment analytics, etc. This role will be required to support and in some cases lead such projects.

 

Data Reporting:

  1. Validate various data sets (such as Carparc data, retail sales data, competitor data, etc).

  2. Prepare reports and dashboards to present the data to stakeholders across markets

  3. Ensure data quality and timelines in accordance with the internal reporting and planning processes.

 

Consumer and Customer Insights
While this is not the primary responsibility, the role might be required to support (and in some cases, even design and lead) Consumer/Customer research activities from time to time.

 

  1. Work closely with APAC teams to support research design for INDIA market

  2. Support research projects such as: brand communication evaluation, Brand Health Tracking, Consumer and Customer understanding – both quantitive and qualitive analysis

  3. Learn from insights generated in other markets and validate their applicability for INDIA. Drive consumer centric sales and marketing decisions by sharing the category, brand & consumer understanding actively to regional/country marketing team members

 

Experience

  • 7+ years experience in data analytics

  • Good exposure and understanding of primary market research tools and techniques

  • 3 years + experience in consumer products and MNC environment

  • 3 years+ experience with a market research/data analytics agency

  • Proficiency in at least one data visualization tool such as Power BI and Tableau.

  • Hands-on experience with statistic analysis software e.g SPSS
