In close collaboration with the global Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) team, the Regional Enterprise Data Architect role drives and oversees the strategic design and implementation of the organization's data architecture. This involves collaborating closely with stakeholders from various departments to understand business objectives, identify data requirements, and develop solutions that align with the organization's digital transformation goals. The Regional Enterprise Data Architect plays a critical role in shaping the organization's data strategy, ensuring data integrity, and fostering a data-driven culture. He/she has responsibility to develop and execute regional strategies to collect and refine metadata and execute data governance processes and ensure compliance with EDG program.

The incumbent is responsible for training, guiding, and supporting business users and leaders to meet curation standards, drive cyclical governance processes, and align catalog design and process with business needs.

He/She is also responsible for working with various stakeholders to ensure the people, process and technology required to enable the stewardship function to be successful are in place to drive sustainable improvements and adoption of the data management strategy.

 

Data Strategy Development and Governance:

  • Work with enterprise data governance team and leadership to establish data governance framework for APAC region, including policies, procedures, and standards, to ensure the effective management, security, and privacy of organizational data assets. Define the processes for data classification, access control, data quality, and metadata management
  • Leverage catalog, automation, and reporting resources to define the structure and cadence of governance events
  • Define roles and responsibilities for data ownership, stewardship, and governance. Clearly articulate the responsibilities of data owners, stewards, and custodians, and ensure that these roles are understood and fulfilled across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Data Architecture Design and Management:

  • Work with global data governance team to align catalog content and processes
  • Engage with functional or SBU managers and experts to align and reflect data sources in the enterpise data catalog, and to establish ownership and stewardship of those data sources
  • Engage with data owners and stewards to curate the catalog to meet both EDG standards, and localized requirements
  • Collaborate with IT to oversee the implementation of data management tools, including data modeling tools, database management systems, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools, and data visualization platforms. Ensure that these tools are configured and optimized to support the organization's data architecture and requirements

Business Technology Advisor and Relationship Leader:

  • Be a key advisor in all new strategic data initiatives and ensure alignment to the enterprise wide business and data strategy
  • Oversee functions related to the collection, aggregation, consolidation, maintenance, and distribution of data throughout the organization and ensure the integrity of the master data. Provide oversight of the data management system while ensuring the proper procedures are in place for maintaining data integrity
  • Drive education, awareness, and process adherence, and enforce engagement with SBU or functional management and data data owners and stewards to execute EDG process

Continuous Improvement Process Leader:

  • Define, develop and measure data quality analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Coordinate development and training of data quality practice
  • Build a framework of principles to ensure data integrity across the business and maintain appropriate Enterprise Architecture artifacts including; Entity Relationship Models, Data dictionary, taxonomy to aid data traceability

Education & Certifications Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or related discipline is required.

 MBA or Master's degree in related domains preferred

 

Experience. Knowledge, Skills Required:

  • 15+ years experience with demonstrated expertise in data management practices, including data modeling, integration, quality management, and lifecycle management.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures.
  • Knowledge of Data Management Principles covering data governance, data quality, integration, and lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in data architecture skills including data modeling, database management, ETL, and cloud-based data architectures.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to identify and address complex data-related challenges.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts with stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver data solutions aligned with business objectives.
