Accounts Payable Rep.

Primary Purpose:

The Accounts Payable Rep. supports our plants and vendor invoicing.  In this role you will exercise judgment and initiative in detecting and resolving problems. You will have involvement with compilation of weekly and monthly reporting of payables to internal management and external parties. Daily activities include invoice discrepancy resolution in SAP and VIM (Vendor Invoice Management) systems. Taking it a step further to identify and analyze root cause issues and implement process improvements on the issues found. Good communication skills are required as you will be working with several business partners including the NA Tire and Chemical manufacturing plants.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial reporting processes that support the commercial business. This includes but is not limited to monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close procedures and account reconciliations all in accordance with predefined deadlines.           
  • Utilize US GAAP U.S. generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and assist in applying US GAAP to transactions that are accounted for and reviewed.                  
  • Participate with continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes and systems.                 .
  • Document, test and review journal entries systems and accounting processes for SOX.       
  • Conduct balance sheet fluctuation analysis and provide detailed commentary to explain variances.          

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
  • general accounting, finance, or business experience.

 

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer systems: MS Office products, (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills that establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly.
  • Ability to support accounting/finance decisions with logical evidence and persuasively present position.
  • Ability to communicate or present information, both verbally and written effectively with all levels of the organization.
