About the Position

Goodyear is seeking a Scrum Master to join our Digital Product Innovation team to support building enterprise-grade digital solutions. As part of Goodyear's Beyond Tires strategy, we have the vision to create sustainable, open, and scalable data products to reshape the future of mobility. The Scrum Master is responsible for instilling Agile methodology within the Global Innovation Technology Team's everyday life.

 

As a scrum master you work with and Agile product team. You will need to create user stories, help decompose the work, estimate work effort, manage backlogs, and support all aspects of conducting meetings to support software development. You will facilitate the development team to allow the team to self-organize and make changes quickly. This role will be a thought leader for implementing the Agile methodology in our Global Innovation Technology Team. They apply Agile Product Management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to deliverables, processes, and systems to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Utilize agile methodology in the management of the scrum process while coordinating the activities of the scrum team.  Coach the team to reach higher and sustainable levels of performance and maturity.  Validate quality of scrum team deliverables while leading team effort in relentless improvement
  • Manages and facilitates agile methodology within the team and organization flow, including running scrum, planning, demo and retrospective meetings, lead the decision-making processes in order to ensure quick inspection and proper use of adaptation process                                    
  • Exercises full autonomy in the implementation of the Agile process across all of the Global Innovation Technology Team within Goodyear and coaches team to deliver value incrementally, while exploring solutions through experimentation and ultimately providing well-tested deliverables
  • Partners closely with the Global Innovation Technology Team, helping with the recognition and management of change and assists team in adapting as appropriate, contributing to the overall accomplishment of team goals and objectives
  • Drives team iteration execution, communicates with management and stakeholders, protects the team from uncontrolled injection of work (changes are evaluated/intentional)

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent required
  • Scrum Master Certification required
  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent desired
  • 10+ years equivalent work experience in information technology or business environment.
  • 6+ years experience as scrum master - training, coaching and working to build high-performing agile teams.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in managing Agile software development using JIRA, Confluence or similar tools.
  • Project Management experience preferred

  • Customer focused, sensitive to customer needs, their critical business cycles and schedule
  • Ability to communicate and work well with team co-located across the globe
