About the Position 
You will have the opportunity to support the Innovation Technology team: by supporting technical Tire Information Systems developments for commercial and consumer applications.
Be part of a global technology development team.
Understand business requirements and deliver technology that meets performance, cost and quality standards. Support development of Goodyear’s strategy in commercial and consumer tire information systems.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop controls test plans and procedures
  • Develop/Test enhancements, bug fixes and new features for software applications.
  • Develop automated test procedures that can be run on the HIL and or vehicle
  • Execute verification and validation testing on time and with quality to meet program milestones
  • Provide validation status to leadership and the appropriate project management
  • Collaborate with algorithm design development engineers to improve algorithms.
  • Create validation and verification tests to ensure designs are of high quality
  • Support issue resolution
  • Develop and document requirements required to design an automotive system
  • Oversee requirements development with other activities
  • Provide support to other specialists for root cause analysis
  • Strong ability to expertly capture and analyze empirical data.
  • Design Tests to efficiently find opportunities for design improvements
  • Identify and document system vulnerabilities and craft mitigation action plans; track corrective actions
  • Collaborate with other Test Engineers and share best practices
  • Stay on top of industry trends, technologies, and standard methodologies.


Required Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or similar field. 
    • MS Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science desired 
  • 5+ years’ experience 
    • Automotive testing experience desired


Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with HiL benches (e.g. dSPACE), Simulink, Stateflow
  • Experience translating feature requirements and design specifications into technical use cases
  • Managing ambiguity
  • Strong programming skills with general purpose software like Matlab or Python and embedded languages like C, C++
  • Involved in all phases of the software development life cycle – requirements analysis, development, implementation, and testing
  • Working experience with automotive development process: A-Spice / ISO26262 / Scrum
  • Strong test design experience - Developing and documenting test cases
  • Experience integrating automated test suites in continuous integration (CI)/continuous development (CD) pipelines
  • Experience translating feature requirements into a test design and working automated test suites  
  • Automotive hardware knowledge (signal conditioning, data acquisition, data transmission, to environmental testing and certifications)
