Position Description:

The Application Developer applies expertise in current digital technologies to provide competitive solutions to enterprise-wide business challenges as well as technical leadership for digital application development and cross platforms and ideally looking for experience working with Azure in a large scale, serverless environment to provide “full Stack” development.  They also serve as a steward of digital technology standards collaborating with global digital peers.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design and develop new processes, programs and configuration taking into account the complex interrelationships of system-wide components.
  • Provide system-wide support and maintenance for a complex system or business process. Maintain and modify existing processes, programs and configuration through use of current information technology toolsets. 
  • Troubleshoot, investigate and persist. Develop solutions to problems with unknown causes where precedents do not exist, by applying logic and inference with persistence and experience to see the problem through to resolution. Confer with the stakeholder community on problem determination. Make joint analysis decisions on cause and correction methods. Perform tasks as necessary to ensure data integrity and system stability. 
  • Complete life-cycle testing (unit and integration) of all work processes` including cross platform interaction. 
  • Create applications and database with main focus on data collection systems to support Analysis, Data Capture, Design Tools, Library functions, Reporting, Request systems and Spec Systems used in tire development process.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, MIS or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in applying current information technology to specific areas of the business.
  • Preferred Experience:
    o            Azure experience with large scale, serverless solutions
    o            Container technologies (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes)
    o            Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code
    o            API development and management (Azure API Mgmt., MuleSoft)
    o            Microservice design concepts
    o            Experience with data modeling and data architecture
    o            Relational and NoSQL database experience
    o            Automation and orchestration experience (Azure Pipelines, Maven, Jenkins,etc.)


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Developing an understanding of skills needed in other disciplines, of second business process area and basic cost/benefit analysis method
  • Basic organizational, communication and time management skills.
  • Participate as an active team member, practice effective listening skills and effective collaboration skills.
  • Achieve all information technology objectives through use of approved standards and guidelines.
  • Must be capable of working under broad supervision and interacting with user representatives on a regular basis.
