About the Position

We have two ADM openings available, covering the South Central and Western regions. Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant District Manager position allows candidates the ability to partner with district managers to understand the retail business processes. This role will focus on operational leadership and communications for a segment of the 550+ stores. This role does allow for remote work as well as travel, which can be up to 75%.


Primary Responsibilities

  • The ADM will be responsible for building relationships at the store level, while creating a bridge of understanding between leadership and the field.
  • This position will work directly with the appropriate stakeholder to provide feedback and suggestions for efficiencies in the stores and districts including ideas around execution.
  • The day to day responsibilities will include work assignments within many areas of the focus including development opportunities, operational leadership, recruiting, and coaching and development.
  • Travel to various Retail Districts will provide exposure to a variety of management styles and contribute to an all-around view of the Goodyear Retail business.
  • Travel will be done both independently and in partnership with the respective District Manager. 
  • The Assistant District Manager will be responsible for ensuring integration of the Goodyear Retail BASICS program, observing District and Region team dynamic, as well as assisting with the internal audit process as necessary.
  • This position will collaborate with the District Manager in providing leadership around the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), specifically profit, sales, units, car count and productivity.
  • The Assistant District Manager will partner with Retail Field Leadership to review customer satisfaction metrics to gain the exposure to coach and develop current associates to ensure a favorable guest experience.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. In place of degree, related experience and training is interchangeable.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a retail/service business.
  • Experience managing all aspects of associates including recruiting, performance management, training & improving results.
  • Past management experience.
  • Automotive experience preferred.
  • Fundamental business/finance concepts & how to interpret P&L or other financial statements.
  • How to research, analyze & develop business plans.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Products, email & basic computer skills.
