Canada Brand & Shopper Marketing Manager

The Canada Brand and Shopper Marketing Manager will be solely responsible for strategy development/execution and measurement of all consumer-facing brand marketing communication activities/sponsorships (e.g., Hockey Hall of Fame), dual language product launch activities, point-of-sale [POS], training materials and shopper loyalty programs [including Air Miles]. This position will have strategic oversight of the spring/fall Canadian National Promotion Program (NPP) and Tire and Service Network (TSN) programs and project/budget management for all activities. The role will be responsible for creative development, media strategy and digital media execution (requiring multiple agency management). The role will be based in Akron, Ohio and will serve as the primary liaison to the Canadian Sales/Finance teams.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead all Canada brand marketing efforts to improve brand health metrics and become consumers preferred choice.
    Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Development of strategy and all creative assets for consumer communications and selling materials
    • Creation and execution of linear and digital media plans
    • Guidance of Hockey Hall of Fame and all partnerships 
    • Define/Activate brand health - Building opportunities unique to the Canadian market (e.g., Pelmorex)
  • Manage all Canada loyalty program efforts, performance measurements and budgets.
    Key responsibilities include:
    • Manage weekly interaction with loyalty vendors and track/measure/report performance
    • Determine the Air Miles program go forward strategy and/or lead (replacement) request for proposals (RFPs)
    • Negotiate new contract with existing and/or new supplier
  • Manage all Canadian new product launch support and dual language programs.
    Key responsibilities include:
    • Work collaboratively with Product Launch Champion teams to support new launches in Canada
    • Develop dual language creative and selling materials
  • Oversight of Canada NPP and TSN activity (bi-annually).
    Key responsibilities include:
    • Work collaboratively with United States (U.S.) NPP/TSN team to guide strategic direction of Canadian programs
    • Ensure all support materials are consistent, on strategy and available in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrate the behaviors, abilities and value of dual Brand/Shopper roles

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree
  •  7 or more years of experience in Brand/Shopper Marketing or related area
  • Proven success working collaboratively and cross-functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated project management competency 
  • Agency management and creative evaluation skills
  • Strategic ability
  • Financial acumen

  • Experience with various social media platforms and digital marketing tactics
