Position Description:

The Compliance and Employment Manager is responsible for carrying-out activities related to complying with federal/state laws, policies and guidelines including the company’s EEO / AAP. This position is also responsible for monitoring/ensuring the company remains compliant with federal, state and local employment-related laws/regulations as new ones are passed and current versions are updated, amended or interpreted by the courts. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the businesses, Human Resources (HR), Legal Counsel and external consultants to provide subject matter expert (SME) advice on all employment-law compliance related topics and risk mitigation recommendations.         

 

Principal Responsibility:

  • Lead/Complete all reports, analyses and plans - Ensuring compliance with federal/state laws (covering AAP, equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related reporting requirements.  Work with Legal, business units, consultants and HR and support the development of company-wide AAPs, diversity and related programs.
  • Track, monitor and report-out on new federal, state, local laws and government/court announcements and decisions - Interpreting current laws that impact employees and HR to ensure compliance with such laws. Work with key stakeholders to ensure company policies/guidelines are updated and remain consistent with the evolution of state/federal laws, and partner with the Corporate Policy Committee to support the administration and implementation of Company policies.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders on audit preparation/support, communication and responses to the Department of Labor (DOL) and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
  • Support business units and HR to ensure compliance with EEO laws, OFCCP regulations, I-9 and e-verify processes. Develop/Deliver information and training to key stakeholders related to EEO, AAP and related compliance initiatives. Partner with the Compliance and Ethics team to investigate possible policy violations and related employee relations issues.
  • Manage both the EEO/AAP consulting and vendor relationships (including GovDocs and direct employers/vendors responsible for developing AAPs, EEO-1 and other federal/state reports).

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 5 or more years of experience in Human Resources and/or Compliance
  • Experience handling the requirements established for a Federal Contractor preferred
  • Ability to use professional judgment to evaluate information, data and practices for risk and communicate recommendation
  • Display integrity, persistence, flexibility and analytical thinking skills
  • Excellent listening skills to understand compliance issues and its impact on business needs in order to make appropriate recommendations

Preferred Personal Skills/Attributes/and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, labor relations negotiations and data analysis
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • SAP/AAP/HRIS Systems Management desired. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
