About the Position

The Corporate Development, Mergers and Acquisition role will support the merger/acquisition (M&A) and corporate planning processes to build Goodyear’s current/future portfolio.  This position will support/assist with the due diligence process, valuation analysis projects, corporate strategy and corporate planning projects. The individual will lead various workstreams of M&A transactions from beginning to end.  He/She will proactively source deals that fit the Goodyear strategy and lead portfolio review analysis.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis to understand and frame thinking on key strategic issues to drive strategy for the entire corporation.
  • Study companies/markets/industries and assess attractiveness to determine areas for acquisition or divestiture and recommend appropriate action. Assist with M&A and planning projects.
  • Lead industry analysis and target identification. Perform detailed valuations on acquisition/divestiture opportunities. Lead due diligence efforts across corporate functional and business operating teams. Participate on acquisition project teams (for specific acquisitions).
  • Develop compelling materials to advance and/or advocate our corporate strategy. Provide support in presenting valuation and strategy work to senior leadership. Aid in preparing for negotiations and actively participate in the negotiation process.
  • Support contract negotiations. Support/Design the transition plan for Integration teams.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • MBA required.  
  • 1 or more years of experience in post-MBA work in related fields (i.e., corporate development, corporate strategic planning, consulting and investment banking).
  • Working knowledge of valuation models and methodologies (DCF, Monte Carlo, Real Option and comparable transaction analysis).
  • Public and Private transactions (buying/selling).

 

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated strategic agility, business acumen and critical thinking
  • Prior project leadership skills and experience in all phases of deal transactions
  • Experience in valuation of intellectual property (IP), software and intangibles
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Strategic analysis and Global outlook
