About the Position

The Credit Analyst is a position in the Credit Financing area that is responsible for assisting in the management of credit customers, including the assessment of their credit worthiness, establishing credit limits, negotiating resolution with past due accounts and overall risk assessment decisions. These would typically involve accounts with smallest exposures and least risks. In addition, responsibilities would include various operational and reporting tasks that would assist the department in attaining its goals and objectives.


 Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in determining the credit worthiness of new and existing customers and establish and maintain security files. 
  • Develop and administer plans to collect past due accounts and communicate these plans via phone and electronic communication.
  • Manage communication with internal customers to assure all parties are aware of high risk accounts and work together towards resolution of past due balance
  • Ensure compliance with credit processes as well as adherence to established corporate policies and internal control.
  • Assist with administrative and daily support functions within the Credit Department, which may include the initiation and maintenance of reports, presentations, data management, etc.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in business related area.  
  • 2+ years of successful accounting/finance experience preferably in the credit, accounts receivable or financial analysis area.
  • Experience in interpreting a company's financial viability from a risk assessment perspective is preferred but not required.
  • Experience or working knowledge in obtaining security documentation and guarantees (e.g. UCC filings, letters of credit, mortgages,
  • insurance, etc.) preferred but not limited. Experience with SAP is highly desired.
  • Experience working environment that required the understanding and implementation so strong internal control desired.


Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of reading & understanding corporate financial statements.
  • Advanced skills in using Microsoft applications, specifically Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to negotiate in a customer-oriented environment toward results that are deemed to be acceptable to all parties
