Data Analytics Analyst

Position Description:

The Data Analytics Analyst is an early talent role on Goodyear's Data Engineering and Analytics team.  This role participates in the design and development of data pipelines and processes that support reporting and analytics applications. This could include creating processes that consume data from external APIs, implementing data transformations (ETL), and optimizing data structures for performance. The individual engages with various stakeholders within Information Technology and business functions to identify requirements and determine appropriate data solutions.  General application development and / or Data Development skills are desired for this early talent role.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design and development of data pipelines and processes in both cloud and on-premise environments
• Partner with Data and Visualization Engineers on implementation of data solutions
• Follow best practices for DevOps, security, performance, scalability, and cloud architecture
• Optimize data structures for use by various analytics applications
• Work with stakeholders to identify and document requirements

Required Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.  
• 1 or more years of experience in IT or Data Analytics or related.  
•  In lieu of degree, 6 or more years of related experience

Personal Skills/Attributes/and Qualifications:

• Experience gathering/analyzing system requirements
• Understanding of database structure principles
• Exposure to SQL and PL/SQL
• Familiarity with at least 1 programming language (Python preferred)
• Exposure to data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Cognos, SAP Analytics Cloud)
• Proven analytical skills
