Die Develop Programmer Technician

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Interpreting conceptual design criteria and specifications to support CNC programming and tool design for production trials. Interpret customer concepts and specifications and develop accurate, robust, repetitive process plans.
  • Support CNC programming to manufacture extruder dies. Determine and publish extruder control set points for different products. Tune die design and extruder control set points to optimize waste and productivity.
  • Provide statistical analysis of extruder performance. Develop a thorough understanding of complex extruder processing problems to determine the causal explanation.
  • Present problems and analysis to management using A3 (or equivalent) methodology.
  • Provide off-shift/weekend plant support if needed.


Education and Certifications

  • Required: Technical degree with strong manufacturing experience.
  • Desired: BS in Mechanical Engineering. 



  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with 4 and 5 axis machining centers, machining metal blanks of high strength alloys, and an understanding of metal planning preferred.
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and computing skills (trigonometry, algebra, geometric, and dimensional tolerancing.)
  • Proven ability to interpret customer concepts, specifications, and 3-D models and then develop accurate, robust, repetitive process plans.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to utilize data to make decisions and communicate to people at all levels effectively.
  • Must process strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with A3 (or equivalent) problem solving is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Engineering drawings, CAD/CAM Software (CATIA preferred), SPC/ data analysis
