Primary Purpose of Position:

The North America Consumer Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing a communications plan that supports the objectives and priorities of the business. This includes creating brand and product campaigns that move customers and consumers to choose Goodyear in close collaboration with leadership, Marketing and external agency partners. The manager is also responsible for supporting leader communications and developing communications that foster internal associate engagement. Additionally, the NA Consumer Communications manager plays a lead role in the company's annual Customer Conference, a multi-day high production event including main stage presentations and entertainment as well as a trade show.

The ideal candidate has a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple competing demands and building strong relationships with business leaders


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across the business and with external agency partners to develop and execute communications campaigns in support of the business' brand assets and product launches.
  • In close conjunction with leaders, develop and execute communications campaigns that foster associate engagement and alignment with business strategies/priorities
  • Ensure ongoing trade media presence and proactively monitor/address risks to the brand
  • Support ongoing customer communications and take a lead role in creating content for the annual Customer Conference main stage presentations and trade floor demonstrations



  • Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or a related field.



  • 7 or more years of Communications/Public Relations experience - Agency experience preferred  
  • Strong, established relationships with a broad range of media and outlets
  • Experience developing and executing Communications Project Plans and working with agencies
  • Proven story telling abilities and comfort acting as a company spokesperson
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment



  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Understanding of social media as a channel of Public Relations Strategy
  • Desire to think out of the box and drive excitement with Public Relations (internally and externally)
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment with multiple clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
