Position Purpose:

  • Provide process maturity, standards and long-term transformational leadership for all customer service and logistics planning and execution activities at a global level and support SBU teams in their implementation and continuous improvement path
  • Improve world class Logistics and Customer Service capabilities in the Goodyear Supply Chain
  • Maintain awareness of internal and external best practices and relevance to Goodyear
  • Ensure Global standards on Customer Service and Logistics principles, processes, metrics, capabilities and systems are developed, in alignment with SBUs and a roadmap for maturity improvement and implementation is agreed
  • Lead the implementation of the process maturity improvement for Customer Service and Logistics Globally
  • Lead the Global Logistics Planning and Execution Team, ensuring SBUs are warned of Inbound disruptions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Optimize the Goodyear Inbound and Outbound distribution networks to optimize cost, cash, service, as required
  • Build 'Flow' capabilities into the CSL processes and organization, aligned with Manufacturing Flow principles
  • Collaborate with Procurement on the contract standards, selection and contracting of relevant Logistics Providers
  • Lead and facilitate strategic, transformational programs for RvsCC or Supply Planning, as agreed and resourced by Global SC Leadership Team
  • Ensure stakeholders contribute to, are aware of and aligned with the work
  • Lead Global Virtual Process Improvement Teams in the areas of Customer Service and Logistics, as determined by the SCLT

 

Primary Duties:

  • Provide strategic direction on Customer Service and Logistics Principles, Processes, Metrics, Organization, Capabilities and Systems in partnership with SBUs and leading customers and external partners (eg. 3 and 4PLs)
  • Ensure the identification of "Best-practices" across the organization, facilitate sharing across the Regions and secure their integration into the Global standard as appropriate
  • Lead the development of standard Customer Service and Logistics capabilities, process practices across PBU's and SBU's
  • Correlate standards and maturity improvements with Results delivered (Cost, Cash, Service).
  • Build and lead a Global Logistics Team purposed to reduce SBU workload on tracking and mitigating Inbound Logistics reliability and collaborating with Global Logistics Procurement to optimize the value proposition with our Global carriers
  • Improve Predictive ETA and cost and availability risk mitigation
  • Provide governance to implementation of the global CSL standards
  • Collaborate with Procurement on a new/up-to-date way of working with our Logistics providers that encourages them to invest in us, without tying us to non competitive providers
  • Improve delivery to agreed milestones.  Automation investments from 3PLs
  • Leads and manages various strategic initiatives with alignment between Global Operations as well as across the SBUs and other functional units.  Specifically development of warehousing and automation standards, in collaboration with GME and our leading logistics providers to drive a cost-down approach, improvement of GY cost-cash-availability benchmarking standards with external inputs/triangulation with logistics providers
  • Improve CpT, inventory and/or stock availability
  • Ensure a culture of continuous improvement is developed to drive operational efficiencies and business improvements including the development of talents and motivate associates.  Leverage digital analytics capabilities to drive improvements
  • Improve root-cause based problem solving and use of analytics     

 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, economics, finance or related fields or equivalent experience
  • More than 10 years experience in Operations and/or Supply Chain
  • Solid background in Customer Service and Logistics strategically and operationally
  • Experience in a heavily matrixed organization with a strong geographical/business unit approach and influencing ability
  • Successfully led supply chain transformation projects across functional, geographic and business unit structures
  • Ability to manage complex processes and drive efficiency improvements
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skill in dealing with people in a variety of functions across the globe
  • Ability to work with remote teams in an effective manner
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies
  • Understand operations strategy, product supply, production planning, and other related S&OP processes
