Ecommerce Solutions Architect

Primary Purpose of the Position

Goodyear is seeking an Ecommerce Solutions Architect to join the Interactive Digital team and support the growth of our Ecommerce channel and business. After being the first in the category to sell tires online 6 years ago, we have more to do on our digital transformation journey. As an Ecommerce architect, you will collaborate closely with both internal/external partners - Recommending/Deploying omni-channel solutions. This role will lead the advancement of Goodyear's Ecommerce platform and will extend platform capabilities to unlock new consumer buying experiences. This position will drive strategic technology decisions based on business roadmaps and objectives and will be responsible for alignment with internal/external stakeholders in the development/implementation of new technology solutions.

The incumbent will be responsible for the automation/transformation of all data transfer processes from internal back office solutions to Goodyear web properties - Reducing reliance on legacy systems/processes based on the translation of the business requirements into systems design and drive the development of prototypes/technology demonstrations.

In addition, this individual will be responsible for the on-going technology/capability roadmaps for Goodyear's Ecommerce platforms. An enabler of success in this role will be a combination of business acumen, industry knowledge and a deep Ecommerce technical background. Lastly, he/she will be a strong collaborator - Managing external agency resources, internal information technology (IT) support teams.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consult with internal marketing and IT stakeholders to develop technical solutions. Make technology platform recommendations based on Goodyear's business objectives.                         
  • Validate technical approaches by driving the development of prototypes and proof of concepts (POCs).                                    
  • Help develop/drive Goodyear's Marketing Technology (MarTech) strategy and platform roadmap based on business objectives - Help the business define those objectives.                                
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors/agencies to create unique and compelling experiences for Goodyear’s customers/consumers with the intent to move tire units online.                
  • Conduct industry/competitor research to understand emerging/innovative solutions/directions and Goodyear’s relative capability maturity.


Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field



  • 8 or more years of experience as an Enterprise or Solution Architect
  • Proven track record of developing/implementing robust Ecommerce technology solutions (both back-end and front-end)
  • Experience in microservices architecture, headless commerce and data transformation
  • Experience implementing solutions utilizing commerce, content and other marketing technologies platforms (SAP Hybris and Adobe Experience Manager) - Desired
  • Experience designing and implementing Cloud based solutions utilizing AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred
  • Understanding and experience in microservices architecture, headless commerce and data transformation


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience delivering within agile frameworks/methodologies
  • Excellent collaborator - Working in fully agile product or software delivery teams regionally
  • Management of offshore development teams
  • Passion for embracing emerging technology solutions and pushing the boundaries of what's possible for business success
  • Experience designing/implementing Cloud based solutions - Utilizing AWS, Azure or GCP - Desired
