Position Description:

The Finance Manager of Capital Expenditures and Investment will join in a newly created role to bring process improvement and change to our capital spend initiative.  Specifically, you will support the annual capital planning process, including measuring regional adherence to plan, validation of investment returns, overseeing the financial review of proposed capital projects, maintains capital budget policies and procedures and provides guidance to SBUs and Corporate departments on all capital related topics. The role will also be responsible for the forecasting of corporate, RDEQ capital planning.  Providing leadership for two project accountants, you will ensure that the major capital projects are being properly capitalized in accordance with corporate plus financial reporting policy.

This position must communicate effectively with and influence senior leadership in Corporate and Regional functions.

 

 Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage the annual Capital Plan process. Support Capital Planning process through collaboration with business units and Corporate FP&A towards target alignment
  • In partnership with SBUs, measure spend against forecast lead efforts to build improved capability to forecast monthly spend. Support corporate requests for Leadership and Board updates and reviews. Lead reporting and analysis to provide visibility of CapEx spend to management.
  • Oversee the financial review proposed capital projects during annual capital plan process, when projects are submitted as “green budgets” and in support of the Enterprise Program Process (EPP) Stage Gate review. Ensure business cases are complete and accurate, and projects evaluated on a consistent basis worldwide.    
  • Support key global finance leaders in the forthcoming "control tower" process.  As process is developed, to support regional to corporate alignment and proper prioritization of corporate funds - role will have tactical responsibility ensure linkage between regions and Corp leadership review.
  • Support the Post-Project Audit process.

 

Required Experience and Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8 or more years of progressively more responsible finance leadership assignments. Manufacturing finance experience is highly desirable
  • Prior experience managing and developing associates both at the manager or analyst levels.
  • Prior composure presenting to senior management.
  • Experience evaluating capital project business case proposals.
  • Working knowledge of capitalization processes and related accounting policy
