The Global Mobility Lead - Americas will manage, oversee, and coordinate the relocation of associates and their families to and from Latin America locations. This may include expatriates, third-country nationals, permanent transfers, direct hires, and repatriations. This person will provide subject matter expertise to Business Leaders, Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs), and Assignees regarding Global Mobility policies, relocation process, benefits (while on assignment), cost estimates, and policy exceptions. They will review and benchmark expatriate policies for market competitiveness and business application/affordability, also providing counsel/support to client groups for project work and international assignment alternative considerations to support the business needs.

 

Job Functions

  • Schedule Authorize expatriate (outbound and inbound to and from Latin America (LA) assignments in the mobility system (Assignment Pro).

  • Interface with vendor supplier (Ernst and Young) to provide necessary details about the assignment to prepare cost estimates, assignment letters, and other essential documentation.

  • Interface with other vendor suppliers to initiate additional services associated with the international assignment (including household goods shipment, destination services, immigration matters, home sale, and other activities [as required]). 

  • Provide orientation to assignees regarding their international assignment (including transfer process, policies, benefits, visa documentation, temporary living, dependent education, and other matters as may be required by the nature of the assignment). 

  • Provide ongoing assistance for the duration of assignment as circumstances warrant.

  • Serve as escalation point with vendors.

  • Coordinate inpatriate (inbound/outbound to and from Latin America) assignment activities (including conducting associate orientation, expense report submission instructions, and company car authorization).

  • CIGNA international medical insurance enrollment processes, process monthly invoices for payment and reconcile invoices to enrollments for expats, inpats, COBRA, and LATAM international assignees for accuracy and correctness, and resolve enrollment and billing issues.

  • Will also obtain copies of the assignee's letter of assignment, balance sheet, and signed house lease agreement (if applicable).

  • Coordinate, oversee, and liaison with tax vendors on the tax preparation and tax equalization programs for all Latin America countries.

  • Maintain tax authorization list, providing direction and support to the EY tax team as needed on associate issues, maintain EY Sharepoint site for the TEQ and refund payment tracking, process tax payments during the year, process annual Safe Harbor tax payments as recommended by tax vendor, provide GY payroll data/reports as requested, communicate with associates regarding repayment and other tax-related concerns, respond to associate and finance/accounting questions and requests.

  • Process, submit, implement and monitor expat/inpat payroll and HRIS (HR Connect) transactions and activity for Latin America. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of a degree, seven (7) or more years of experience in Expatriate Administration

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Global Mobility experience in all aspects of expat/inpat compensation, compliance, worldwide compensation collection, payroll, tax, HR Systems, Workday, as well as assignment administration, relocation, and benefits

  • Specific experience with Latin America expatriate populations

  • Experience working with third-party vendors for program administration (which may include assignment services, taxes, immigration, social security, household goods shipment, and fleet vehicle management)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • Fluent Portuguese and Spanish

 

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent customer service delivery to associates and client groups 

  • Working knowledge of Human Resource Administration and Policies (with emphasis on expatriate administration, international benefits, immigration, and expense management). Expatriate payroll taxation

  • Self-driven, results-oriented, high level of analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and deadline-driven mindset

  • Clear and effective communication/listening skills 

  • Flexible/Adaptable - Able to implement new processes and procedures and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
