Position Description:

The Global Travel and Expense Lead is responsible for global strategy development and regional operations oversight within the Global T&E organization including focusing on Travel and Travel forms of payment programs.  Additionally, the candidate will have a strong understanding of Travel and Expense systems, ideally SAP Concur software or similar. The Global Travel and Expense Lead is a self-starter and change agent, who will focus on project management, problem diagnosis and resolution.  This position is responsible for managing and developing a team as well as being responsible for the relationship with vendors to ensure superior service levels for Goodyear.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Support formulation and process design of global strategy for specific sub-area (Travel forms of payment).   Partner with travel agency for program design: online booking tool content, negotiate travel benefits for Goodyear. Develop form of payment strategy (travel and PCard) and reports to leaders for informed decisions on best practices, create internal T&E websites, develop T&E communications and training materials for program enhancements.
  • Responsible for leading regional operations teams.  Collaborate with regional Global T&E Lead peers to develop best in class global standard processes for travel and purchasing card programs, travel programs, etc.  Functions as a critical liaison between Global T&E Manager and T&E operations teams who understands key T&E organization initiatives and metrics (cost, quality, customer service) and develops action plans for teams to successfully execute.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge base of different currencies, tax/VAT situations, pay strategies and processes in order to collaborate with IT to deploy updates and help T&E team members resolve incidents. Leader of global reviews with stakeholders to ensure focus on specific areas requiring attention from Americas, EMEA and APAC.
  • Responsible for cultivating internal and external business partner relationships.  This includes independently assessing situations and identifying most appropriate form of communication, with Goodyear associates, Goodyear senior leaders, Procurement, Goodyear's travel agency, SAP Concur, and Bank partners.
  • Performance of manager responsibilities to support T&E operations personnel grow and develop with the T&E organization and Goodyear.  This role empowers, develops and leads the T&E team to obtain the desired results.


Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in accounting, finance or other business-related area.
  • MBA Desired
  • 5+ years of problem-solving experience.
  • Experience working in customer service-oriented environment.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment requiring little to no oversight.
  • Finance / business partnership experience is preferred.
  • Experience with large corporate T&E systems or similar applications.

  • Ability to provide creative thinking towards global strategy design and collaborate with peers across the GBS centers.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization-provide service in a gate keeping role.
  • Ability to maintain proper system and process controls.
