The HR Business Partner - Corporate will drive world-class Human Resource (HR) strategies, systems and processes around staffing, employee relations, training and organizational development, while maintaining positive associate relations and strong engagement. This position will support achievement of the Finance organization's goals by proactively partnering with Leadership teams to address business needs. The incumbent will either focus on direct support of the leadership of the Corporate Finance organization including (including Global Business Services [GBS]).  

 

He/She will collaborate with various levels and areas of the Finance organization to drive key HR and business initiatives - Focusing on talent, leadership, organization and culture. This role will have responsibilities around engagement, employee relations, performance management, development/merit planning, staffing and training.

 

Job Functions

  • Lead recruitment, talent management/development, performance management, succession planning and other key HR activities (as required).
  • Partner with in-region Human Resource Managers and COE (center of excellence) representatives to drive corporate programs - Ensuring alignment through frequent communication and process improvements. 
  • Interface with the global Leadership team and/or local Leadership teams to develop sound HR processes/systems and ensure that the same is performed and implemented in a "One Goodyear Way".
  • Partner with the regional HR teams to ensure alignment on matters where matrix reporting relationships exist between the Americas, EMEA, AP and Corporate for managers/associates.   
  • Drive strategic staffing and people moves through proactive workforce planning and interactive succession discussions.
  • Establish/Maintain healthy selection and on-boarding processes.
  • Clarify organizational needs and translate them into appropriate HR actions/solutions, by leveraging best-practices and internal/external benchmarking.
  • Engage as the subject matter expert (SME) on key corporate deployments and projects (as assigned) for the members of the Corporate Functions HR team, with the purpose of driving consistency, improvement and efficiency in communication/process approaches and outcomes.
  • As a part of the Finance HR team, manage the Finance and Accounting Development Program.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a business related field
  • Five (5) or more years of Human Resource experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience interacting with and supporting leaders of functions or business units
  • Experience leading projects across organizations/regions
  • Experience working with several different audiences, communicating efficiently, knowing your audience
  • Experience investigating, analyzing and solving a myriad of complex associate relations issues assessment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or an MBA
  • PHR or SPHR Certification

 

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HR practices (including succession planning, compensation, talent/performance management, coaching, organizational design), equal employment opportunity [EEO] compliance and affirmative action plans (AAPs)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
