About the Position

This position will provide HR support for the global corporate functions of Communications, HR and Legal.  Reporting to the Senior Director, HR Global Corporate Functions, the HR Manager, Global Communications, HR, Legal will partner with the leadership team members of these functions and will be responsible for the full range of HR duties related to the client groups. It is important to note that there are several operational groups that also fall within the previously mentioned functions: Airship Operations, Flight Operations, Security / Investigations and Facilities.


This position will develop, sponsor, and drive strategies supporting key HR initiatives focusing on Talent, Leadership, Engagement, Organization and Culture to achieve the business goals of the global function and ensures alignment of the functions to the Global HR Priorities. This position supports the achievement of the global function's goals through innovative and thought-forward HR management; building people-related services, policies and programs for the functions that champion associates and helps drive the functions forward.


This position partners closely with the Regional HR points of contact for the Corporate Functions to ensure the effective execution of HR programs and activities globally as they impact Communications, HR and Legal.  Additionally, this role leads the team in the execution of HR deployments from the CoEs and adherence to the HR calendar and develops and maintains relationship with CoEs to provide HRBP perspective and recommendations. As a member of the Global Corporate Functions Human Resources Team this position will collaborate directly with peer positions (HR Director - Global Finance and HR Manager, IT) to ensure alignment on HR processes and programs.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Building Organization Capability: Partner collaboratively with global client groups (Global Communications, Global HR and Global Legal) to support functional goals through effective human resource management. Work with leadership team members to determine strategic and tactical plans to achieve business results while maintaining positive associate relations. Provide proactive coaching, consultation and recommendations to functional leaders on complex situations and organization needs and build associate/leader capability. Demonstrate a data-driven approach to partnering and counseling.
  • Integrated Talent Management: Develop the talent acquisition, performance management, succession and career development strategy and approach (using and developing supportive tools and processes) to link to business/function needs, increase business impact and enhance succession bench strength and diversity. Facilitate cross-functional/cross-region talent discussions to identify individual and organizational strengths, development needs and action plans. Develop and manage the global talent pipeline- identifying career plans, successors for key roles, creating talent segmentation, talent pools, etc. Govern ex-pat development assignments. Partner with leaders and associates on designing and implementing development action plans.
  • Engagement and Enhancing Associate Experience: Lead the associate engagement survey response and action planning for the Global Communications, HR and Legal organizations. Partner with client groups to develop and execute employee engagement and retention strategies, plans, and initiatives and workforce planning.  Drive the larger implementation of positive employee experience at Goodyear.
  • Connects regularly and proactively with Regional HR counterparts to stay updated and involved in employee matters, global deployments and HR initiatives impacting the associates in global roles.  Is well-versed in the global talent pool.
  • Delivering HR Process: Lead and direct all day-to-day HR activities and core HR processes and programs for associates and managers within the client groups.  This includes leading the development and execution of all HR core processes not elsewhere mentioned, including job grading, capability mapping, job descriptions, compensation planning, coaching clients on HR legal compliance and ensuring compliance with all employment laws and Goodyear HR policies, performance management, workplace planning and staffing, and other types of organizational development not covered in other primary duties
  • Partnering with CoEs: Leverage organizational resources including the CoEs to determine best practices that build a defined "great place to work" culture. Utilizing data and other information sources, develops a comprehensive view of the capability/competency needs and opportunities within each function. Research best practices and make recommendations for improvements. Create and short and long-term talent plan that includes a talent management philosophy. Works collaboratively with the Director Talent Management, Global Corporate Functions on various organizational redesign and efficiency projects


Required Education and Experience

  • BS Degree in HR, business or related field required; Masters in HR, MBA &/or SHRM certification desired
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in human resources.
  • Prior HR global experience, working across various countries and within a HR matrix.
  • Prior experience supporting senior leaders of functions or business units.
  • Several years working in a high paced, high volume environment working on activities ranging from strategic to tactical; Experience in talent management, organization design, change management, and data analytics.


Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of all HR Systems: Compliance, compensation, training, OD, recruiting and staffing, performance management, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people at all levels and environments (salaried & hourly).
  • Ability to work with computer systems, email, Microsoft Office products, HRIS systems & internet.
  • Ability to develop, lead & implement projects of varying scope.
  • Excellent presentation and faciliation skills.
