About the Position


The Internet of Things (IoT) Architect applies expertise in designing an end-to-end IoT architecture. The IoT Architect must identify and document the IoT target state for the organization and ensure that the target architecture will address current and future business requirements. The end-to-end IoT solution will span a wide variety of technology areas ranging from data collection sensors, equipment or appliances at the edge all the way to integration with enterprise applications and systems. The IoT Architect will enable the design and construction of IoT global and regional solutions. The IoT architect collaborates with global and regional technical teams and enables the technical teams in their design and implementation of IoT solutions. The IoT architect brings lessons learned and design experience from across a portfolio of implementations. The IoT Architect will develop and standardize the process for building and supporting global and regional IoT solutions and then guide the evolution and improvement of that process. Remote work 1 day/ week is available with potential of additional days after ramp up period.



  • Service Transition Processes: Knowledge Management, Change Management, Asset & Configuration Management, Release & Deployment, Transition Planning & Support, Service Validation & Testing, Evaluation.
  • Service Design Processes: Service Catalog, Service Level Management, Capacity Management, Availability Management, Service Continuity, Information Security, Supplier Management.
  • Responsible for a small number of intermediate complexity/criticality, or multiple low complexity/criticality, services or technologies.
  • Work with/across global/regional/local IT teams by providing advanced/expert consultation for responsible services.
  • Research industry trends and component advancements with the goal of incorporation to service designs to better anticipate and satisfy customer requirements.
  • Evaluate and propose technology solutions which will deliver highly secure and dynamic IT services.
  • Develop detailed designs, business cases, and communicate detailed architecture recommendations needed to support business critical systems and operations.
  • Advocate for the adoption of, and adherence to, defined governance procedures.
  • Own, maintain, publish a standard implementation, and develop a roadmap for one or multiple technologies.
  • Develop new tools and/or processes to provide visibility of performance, cost or other potential areas of improvement.
  • Plan, document, implement, and debug software, systems and/or databases. Incumbent may be required to do advanced configuration or system modifications to those environments.
  • Troubleshoot advanced problems escalated by team members; escalates to upper level associates as appropriate.
  • Document and map workflow and processes using current or new technologies.
  • Manage medium to complex and multi-disciplinary projects within area of specialization and across functional groups. Provides technical leadership for medium project teams.
  • Leads complex problem resolution and documentation which may span functional areas. Problems are complex and ambiguous in nature.
  • Participate in an Emergency On-Call Rotation for after-hours and weekend support.
  • Flexible schedules and 24x7 support availability (generally scheduled in advance) may be required as necessary to support the technical needs of our internal customers.


Requirements Education and Experience

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Information Technology required with two to three years specific information architecture experience preferred
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or related discipline is required

  • Strong understanding of multiple business areas; ability to recommend and translate business requirements to provide optimal solutions and excellent customer service.
  • Is widely recognized for knowledge of business processes and technical skills.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization and assemble complete project plans.
  • Ability to lead complex projects, monitor the results, and make adjustments as needed to ensure goals are accomplished.​
