The Lead, Strategic Initiatives will assist the Director, Strategic Initiatives in developing/executing cross-functional strategies to meet the short-term and 5-year strategic goals of the Americas producer business unit (PBU). This position is responsible for in-depth analysis of sales strategies/customers and evaluation of market landscapes/future trends - Developing insights/recommendations based on analysis.

 

The role will support special projects, programs and (route-to-market) workstreams (including acquisitions, expansions, etc). And will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Category, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Research and Development teams.

 

In addition, this is a strong support role in overall strategy development, merger/acquisition (M&A), market research, competitive analysis, partnership assessment and business case development. 

 

Primary Responsibilities #LI-JK1

  • Analyze sales strategies, customers, market conditions and future trends for attractive opportunities. Provide recommendations and implementation plans based on analysis. Lead complex financial/investment modeling. Develop and present executive-level meeting materials.
  • Manage (either formally or through influence) the engagement of assigned team members to successfully execute a project. Develop team dynamics so associates will be effective at working together. Advance individual team members by conducting required training/coaching. Ensure project communications support a successful completion (including proper stakeholder analysis, communication planning and organizational change management analysis).
  • Internal Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure Sales, Category, Marketing and Finance teams have their relevant business needs met. Act as liaison between the project team and stakeholders (where appropriate). Deliver presentations to management (where appropriate). 
  • Create/Develop strategic reports that are meant to go beyond the numbers and provide analysis of data. Provide suggestions/recommendations based on data and facts - Driving sales for Goodyear.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related business field
  • 5 or more years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain or related field
  • 3 or more years of project experience (any capacity)
  • 3 or more years of experience in strategy development and/or market/competitive assessment
  • Strong experience in baselining existing strategy/financials, creating strategic options, formulating business cases and making clear recommendations
  • Worked for multiple functions or strategic business units (SBUs)

 

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related business field
  • Experience in a related industry
  • Strong interpersonal, organization and communication (written/verbal) skills
  • Ability to prepare detailed analysis and summary reports using credible sources
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to ambiguity and embrace change
  • Ability to identify/surface the most important issues to multiple levels of the organization
  • Build stakeholder alignment to establish agreed path forward (with actions for improvement) across organization leadership
