Position Description:

 

The Lead Acccountant / Financial Analyst will be responsible for journal entries, account reconciliation, monthly close, and the monthly forecasting and annual planning of all financials, identifying and communicating variances to estimate/plan.  The Lead Financial Analyst will also work closely as a business partner driving the linkage of business actions with clear and actionable financial data.  Additionally, this role will be responsible for the monthly monitoring and annual review of Internal & SOX controls, providing clear actionable reporting to all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring financial results are properly reflected.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business partner providing simple, clear, concise, and actionable reporting to all relevant stakeholders (Business / Function Leaders, Finance, and Operations).
  • Manage monthly forecasting and annual plan processes, communicating variance to estimate/plan.

  • Work closely with accounting team to ensure all financials are properly reflected.
  • Support internal/external reporting requirements and competitor analysis

 

Required Experience and Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance 
  • CPA and/or an MBA or advanced degree in accounting is desired
  • A minimum of 5 years of Accounting and / or Finance.  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion preferred. 
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, able to understand complex data and issues with demonstrated ability to think outside the box. 
  • Experience with interpretation and application of current U.S. generally accepted accounting standards.

  • Able to analyze and grasp a situation quickly from different perspectives and create well-reasoned solutions. 
  • People management skills, including excellent written and oral communication, a proven ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal direction and interact confidently with leadership team. 
  • Demonstrates ethical and moral behavior; unquestionable integrity and character. 
  • Ability to support accounting decisions with logical evidence and persuasively present position and respective journal entries.
