About the Position 
The Machine Learning Engineer will support the development delivery and industrialization of data applications and solutions on a global scale to a variety of internal customers. They will be seen as a trusted advisor for analytics, Machine Learning, artificial intelligence (AI) topics (securing alignment), reusability, and partnership with Business/Technical teams. They will help define principles/guidelines and secure adherence to quality/security standards within the entire organization. It requires collaboration and coaching with other IT and non-IT teams. This individual will get the opportunity to create technical deliverables and coordinating communications (globally) - securing common, standard, re-usable and business aligned priorities – keeping a strong cybersecurity mindset. Lastly, they need to secure adherence to the vision - Enabling an inclusive and open to diversity working environment that values network and community of practice.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Actively participate/drive initiatives for Machine Learning, Data Science and Software Engineering communities (internal/external). 
  • Secure and consistently refresh knowledge of industry standards, best practices and trends. Share this knowledge with other team members/stakeholders.   
    • Find ways to support internal knowledge and up-skill for the internal Developers community.
  • Ideate, design, develop or industrialize Machine Learning products - Either by collaborating with the Developer and/or Business team or by accelerating/securing pipeline of the algorithm from ideation to production.
  • Oversee development of others - Responsible for optimization of code and resource consumption.   
  • Work with the Cloud/Infrastructure/Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineers to secure automation of end-to-end deliverables - Accountable for technical design for Machine Learning architecture.  
  • Foster the Developers, Engineers, and Data Science/Analytics communities by demonstrating code best practices in terms of performance optimization and code quality (within the machine learning domain).
  • Ensure secure code is deployable and production ready.
  • Introduce/monitor/secure adherence to quality standards and technology framework.
  • Provide accountability for code quality and efficient implementation of algorithm and machine learning/AI products. 


Required Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems or related discipline. 
    • In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience working in Information Technology. 
    • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems or related desired. 
  • 5+ years experience in relevant technical or business work.
    • 3+ years experience in machines learning desired. 


Skills and Abilities

  • Software engineering (continuous integration/delivery, automation tool and coding best practices/tools).
  • Advanced statistics (Bayesian inference, uncertainty quantification).
  • Computer science (machine learning, data architecture, data management, programming, big data and cloud technologies).
  • Demonstrated leadership and good communication/technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment in a project matrix organization.
