RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Goodyear’s New Venture team is focused on developing solutions and investing in New Mobility, by engaging with emerging customers, leveraging digital technologies, and bringing new solutions to market that are smart, connected and make life’s connections easier every day.  New Ventures includes AndGo by Goodyear (https://www.andgonow.com/), Goodyear Ventures (https://www.goodyearventures.com/), intelligent tire commercialization, as well as a network of Innovation Labs globally in key New Mobility markets (San Francisco, Shanghai).

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, New Ventures, the Manager, Connected Tires is responsible for leading the overall connected tire strategy and go-to-market implementation, working collaboratively with our business units, technology teams and, most importantly, customers. 


Specific duties and responsibilities of the Manager, Connected Tires will include, but not be limited to the following: 


•    Set and evolve connected solution vision and strategies, aligned with Goodyear’s broader corporate and mobility strategies. 
•    Constantly collect customer feedback and iterate on solution requirements, business model design, and specific go-to-market requirements (e.g., pricing, channel strategy)
•    Provide clear user journey’s and requirements to technology development teams.  
•    Identify and manage uncertainties throughout the program with appropriate contingency and mitigation plans. 
•    Lead and manage cross functional team (applied technology, customer development, operations) to perform at their fullest, developing proper team dynamics to be customer-centric and effectively deliver results
•    Coach and develop team by setting clear objectives, utilizing performance management practices, and supporting development plans to upskill the team as needed
•    Ensure program communications to support successful implementation of new solutions, including internal and external stakeholders and customers

  

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES


•    9+ years’ experience required in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
•    6 years in project and/or product management, 2 years leading projects and managing others
•    Prior leadership responsibilities that demonstrates ability to lead a highly cross functional team in new-to-company endeavors
•    Proven experience managing connected, digital solutions from concept to pilot and scale phases
•    Prior experience building strategic collaborations to accelerate new business opportunities
•    Strong agile and product management skills, capable of guiding the team from product strategy, to user journeys and engineering requirements
•    Working knowledge of technologies (sensors, telematics, cloud, AI) enabling connected solutions
•    Ability to set priorities and pace appropriately to ensure focus and ability to deliver
•    Strong communication skills: capable of conveying information concisely to diverse audiences both with internal and external stakeholders 
•    Teamwork skills: ability to thrive in a cross-functional team and deliver results on time
•    Highly collaborative; ability to leverage internal and external expertise for program success

 

EDUCATION

 

•    Bachelor’s Degree required 
•    Master's in Science / Engineering or Business preferred
