About the Position

The Manager, Revenue Management owns strategy development for trade promotion investment programs and pricing decisions for a key category of business (Commuter Touring, All Terrain, etc).  Leads pricing decisions, overseeing the process for price management for designated category in the NA Consumer PBU.  Partnering with the business owners and senior leadership in both Categories and Channels, ensures pricing decisions and trade investment programs are clear and consistently applied and developed to maximize volume and ROI, responds appropriately to market conditions and leverages the value of the Goodyear brand. Evaluates the post effects of all programs and actions once implemented. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Designs and oversees revenue management strategies spanning Pricing, Trade Funds, and National Promotions (NPP/TSN/Customer Specific) for a category of business for NA Consumer PBU.  Leads identification and activation of these strategies.  Works collaboratively with the Directors of Category Planning, the VP and Directors of Channel Development, Director of Finance and the Director of Legal to ensure programs are clear and consistent with company and category strategy and needs.                        
  • Designs, develops and sells-in annual trade programs for a defined category that achieve volume and ROI for both Goodyear and its external customers while being mindful of promotional guidelines and portfolio/product line/channel strategies. Collaborates with Categories, Channels, Finance and Legal in the development of all strategies.  Works with the Americas Business Analysis team for effective and efficient implementation of all programs or changes.
  • Establishes short term promotional pricing programs (both "marketing specials" and rebate programs) that maximize volume and ROI for a defined category.  Works in collaboration with Category Planners, NA Finance and Legal in the development of these programs.  Manages team of direct reports developing detailed sku-level pricing recommendations, ensuring all recommendations are reviewed and aligned by the Category Planning team.  Works closely with the resources in the Category Insights & Analysis team to develop advanced statistical predictive models and mine syndicated market share / sell-out data in the development of all pricing recommendations.  Leverages resources and tools in the America's Business Analysis team.                                
  • Conducts detailed analysis of promotions, pricing and programs once implemented by product line, drawing strategic insights and recommendations for future actions.  Leverages analytic resources in the Category Insights & Analytics team, as well as central resources and systems available from the America's Business Analysis team.  Presents insight to key members of the NA Consumer Leadership Team with implications for future strategy development / changes.                  
  • Acts as the key process owner for all pricing-related decisions within NA Consumer PBU for a defined category.  Oversees reviews all pricing related TPS requests, discussing and aligning with Channel teams on the need and with Category Planners for consideration.  Reviews requests as needed with Goodyear Legal and works with NA Finance on final review.  For larger requests, presents the business case to the review board consisting of the President, NA Consumer, Sr. Director Category Planning & Analysis, VP Channel Development, and Director of Finance for approval.


Required Education and Experience

  • BS or BA Degree in business or related field required, MBA, MA, MS in Marketing, Mathematics or Economics preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years experience in one or more of the following:  Revenue Management, Category Planning, Finance, Marketing, Product Supply, Demand Planning, Market Research, Business Analysis, or other Business-Related Field.


Skills and Abilities

  • Experience leading, coaching and developing advanced analytic talent.
  • Experience and proficiency in multiple quantitative / statistical methodologies. 
  • Sound business acumen and experience in developing strategy and business-driving recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present to various group sizes.
  • Ability to work well with others and participate in multifunctional work.
