Payroll Business Analyst

About the Position

The Payroll Business Analyst will support Global Business Services Payroll Operations to improve the delivery of payroll services for Goodyear North America. Specifically, you will liaise to research, gather and document functional requirements, schedule and perform user acceptance testing, and provide post implementation support. Additionally, you will assist payroll managers and accounting team lead in identifying Workday (payroll system of record), report requirements to assist with problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives, and create, test and move Workday reports to production.  Design and maintain monthly payroll metrics as needed.               


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead / participate on continuous improvement initiatives. Understand robotics capabilities and identify opportunities to automate work. Manage the Workday payroll change request process. Support the implementation of 2 annual Workday payroll releases.         
  • Create and update payroll process documentation including process flow diagrams, written procedures and payroll forms
  • Support research associated with payroll issues.  Ensure root cause is identified, documented and resolved. Resolve integration issues impacting pay.  Update process documentation. Manage the payroll issue escalation mailbox and communicating issue resolution to stakeholders.
  • Investigate and route regulatory inquiries and associated mail to the appropriate Goodyear department.                         
  • Track and publish monthly payroll metrics. Identify opportunities to improve metrics.      
  • Write Workday queries and reports to support GBS Payroll and Goodyear North America requests. Maintain a payroll Workday report library including documenting logic and selection criteria.    


Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. 
  • Masters, Certified Payroll Professional designation, or related payroll gross-to-net experience desired. 
  • 6 years’ experience in any of the following areas: Gathering detailed requirements for system enhancements sufficient for relaying to solution architects; Leading testing efforts to support unit testing and user acceptance testing including regression (end to end) system testing; Leading process improvement initiatives and monitoring the benefits of the improvement via business analytics; Creating reports using various query tools.
