About the Position
The Category Manager, Manufacturing Services, will lead the category team for Manufacturing Services, Facilities Maintenance, and Waste. Additionally, the Manager:
- Leads the commercial and organizational development of category strategy for global footprint to optimize value and deliver lowest total delivered cost.
- Leverages technical expertise and cross-functional and cross-regional influence to drive the timely resolution of supply base issues, ensuring business continuity.
- Accountable for development and execution of negotiation strategies to meet financial and other performance goals of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leads the development of category strategy for global footprint to optimize value and deliver lowest TDC. Accountable for development and execution of negotiation strategies to meet financial and other performance goals of the organization.
- Partners with Procurement Director on supply base segmentation. Develops strategic business partnerships with selected suppliers.
- Makes day to day decisions related to the category in support of overall global strategy to ensure business continuity and appropriate level of stakeholder engagement.
- Serves as primary point of contact for internal cross-functional and cross-regional leadership to resolve supply base and other procurement issues.
- Seeks out new opportunities for application of 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process and Enhanced Sourcing Tools to drive savings opportunities. Supports team's achievement of learning goals.
- Provides guidance, coaching related to effectively managing stakeholders, as a vital component to ensuring effectiveness/credibility of globalized organization structure.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or a related Operational function required. Previous strategic sourcing experience required. Experience in a related industry preferred
Desired Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of core procurement processes, strategic sourcing concepts, and negotiation tactics
- Negotiation skills, strong financial/statistical analysis, organization skills, strong Microsoft Access/Excel skills and/or other database programs, a team player, strong written and verbal communication skills, influence skills, self-directing, and ability to work in a very fast paced, multi-tasking environment
- Foreign language, manufacturing process, mathematical modeling, international experience
