Promotions Manager

Primary Purpose of the Position

Candidate must possess a “can do” attitude and the ability to manage/deliver multiple projects with careful attention to detail. The Promotion Manager will be responsible for overseeing development of multiple promotions simultaneously across advertising channels and point-of-purchase materials. The Promotions Manager will report to the Retail Marketing Manager and work closely with the Retail field team, Digital Marketing team, Retail Marketing planner, External Agency personnel and Retail Analyst. Additionally, the Promotion Manager will be responsible for keeping projects on track, including legal approval on all promotions and timely communication to the field.

The Promotions Manager should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, non-stop environment. Attention to detail and timely communication are critical to the Promotion Manager’s success. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop promotion plan to support the Retail business goals
  • Course correct plans as appropriate throughout the year based on effectiveness of tactics, budgets, competitive response and other business dynamics
  • Drive the best possible promotions through key vendors
  • Manage development of advertising and in-store materials to support promotions while ensuring compliance with legal, advertising and brand guidelines.
  • Maintain a promotional calendar and develop communications to make sales associates aware of programs
  • Conduct ROI analysis for key tactics
  • Monitor and report on competitive activity and trends in retail promotion

 

Education & Certifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree (Liberal Arts, Marketing or related field)

 

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing or advertising
  • Strong promotion management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with external agencies
  • Proven experience working within the full marketing mix (e.g. traditional and digital)
  • Experience working with target audiences and market research

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Highly developed organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and data driven thinking
  • Knowledge of the consumer first, retail industry desirable
