About the Position

Goodyear is developing fleet solutions to execute FACE (Fleet, Autonomous, Connected and Electric) strategy. The solution requires wireless communication between sensors and gateways in the vehicle.

 

Goodyear is seeking an automotive electronics engineer with RF product development experience (TPMS, RKE and/or Bluetooth) who can guide and contribute to the development of wireless communication systems.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop sensors and gateways working with internal team and external partners
  • Evaluate the performance of off-the-shelf wireless communication systems at the bench and vehicle level
  • Keep updated on technology trend and conduct competitive analysis
  • Participate in technical reviews for product release as a subject matter expert
  • Build wireless communication testing capability

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required, Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field desired
  • 4 or more years of experience in development of TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) or RKE (remote keyless entry) system
  • Experience in antenna design in automotive environment
  • Experience in RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) study at vehicle level
  • Experience in automotive electronics product release

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Practical knowledge in automotive RF product design, development and validation
  • Electronics hardware design including antenna design and tuning
  • Working knowledge in government certification process
  • Knowledge in electronics manufacturing process and quality system
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
