About the Position
The Regional Manager - Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management Systems will drive deployment, integration and continuous improvement of EHS Management Systems within the North America (NA) Manufacturing Footprint (which consists of thirteen (13) manufacturing facilities and 10,000+ associates). Ensure consistent application of EHS Processes and Tools across all locations within the region. Continuously identify opportunities for improvement, achieve alignment on improvement opportunities and manage implementation to achieve goals of zero serious injuries and zero EHS-related regulatory non-conformances. This position mentors site-level EHS Professionals and functionally manages two (2) Regional EHS Professionals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead Health and Safety Management System implementation and improvement - Develop regional implementation plans, assist manufacturing sites (within NA) in developing, executing and monitoring action plans to achieve/sustain Health and Safety Management System Certification (VPP or ISO-45001). Identify best practices and standardize processes/tools across NA Manufacturing locations.
- Lead Environmental Management System Improvement Initiatives - Partnering with sites, identify region-wide opportunities to improve Environmental Management Systems (within NA footprint). Assist NA Manufacturing locations in maintaining ISO-14001 certification. Lead region-wide Process Reviews to anticipate permit deviations/non-conformances - manage and drive actions to close gaps.
- Lead Ergonomics Programs and Processes within region. Leverage existing processes and systems to reduce Ergonomic risk. Standardize risk identification and mitigation methods.
- Lead continuous skills development efforts for required EHS Competencies across region. Partner with Regional Training Manager, Site EHS Managers and Site Training Managers to drive initiatives to improve training needs assessments and standardize/optimize training content/delivery.
- Manage and continuously improve Governance Processes. Ensure governance mechanisms (Quarterly, Monthly and Daily Operations Reviews) are optimized and linked to Global, Regional and Site EHS Action Plans. Manage processes related to third-party EHS Legal Compliance Auditing. Manage EHS Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Budget for region. Partner with sites to identify/plan for EHS-related CapEx Projects. Enable, track and govern project completion.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or related field.
- Master’s degree in an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or related field and/or Professional Certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.) desired.
- 10 or more years of experience in EHS Leadership (site, region or global).
- At least 1 or more years at the regional/global level.
- Experience implementing and/or sustaining certifications to ISO 14001 and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001, ANSI Z10, VPP).
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement programs and drive initiatives across multiple sites.
- Experienced and skilled at delivering presentations to senior leaders.
- Strong Interpersonal skills - Ability to build relationships.

- Ability to work independently.
