General Description:

The Drum Booth Repair Machinist is responsible for the disassembly, repair, and assembly of all types of drums. In addition, it includes the handling, moving and placement of drums anywhere in the Drum Repair area using hoists, cranes, lift trucks and power trucks in conjunction with work within their own craft. They will operate any type of power equipment made available to them to accomplish the assigned jobs and use any type of lifting devices to move drums. They are permitted to heat or burn with gas torch for installation. This role is also responsible for related safety and housekeeping obligations throughout the facility.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Must be able to work to close tolerances, be able to read blueprints and sketches, use precision measurement instruments and be able to make layouts
  • Must be able to analyze detail and assembly blueprints and parts listed
  • Must know how to use all machinist and repairman hand tools necessary for the assembly and repair of any type of equipment in drum repair area.
  • Log or use computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed
  • Abide by safe work standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Maintaining consistent and reliable attendance is essential. 
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable

Basic Qualifications: 

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to successfully complete all post-employment, pre-employment contingencies
  • Repairman or Machinist Journeyman card or have established proficiency in these crafts
  • Ability to work any shift, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards and commitment to working safely
  • Willingness to adhere to tobacco-free policy
