Position Description:
The Risk and Insurance Lead will be responsible for supporting Goodyear’s Global Risk Management and Insurance Strategy that align with our organizational objectives. While working with Goodyear's Insurance Broker and internal teams, you will support insurance program renewals as well as risk management objectives and goals to minimize financial loss to Goodyear from global property, casualty, domestic and foreign general/product liability, surety, and other exposures. Additionally, you will support the efforts of large and complex property and casualty claims where applicable. and support key partners within Goodyear globally. Fostering solid and trusted relationships with brokers, insurance partners, lawyers, advisors, and other risk management related contacts will be a significant part of this role.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Request, collect and manage current and historical exposure information and assist in preparation of the annual underwriting submissions for various risk management insurance programs including but not limited to Property & Casualty, Directors & Officers, Aviation, Domestic and Foreign Product Liability, Auto and other key programs consistent with Goodyear’s corporate goals and objectives.
- Actively participate in renewal strategy meetings and ongoing insurance program renewal meetings with insurance carriers. Establish relationships and engage directly with the insurance broker to support the annual insurance program renewals. Ability to negotiate with external insurance carriers and vendors to ensure the best possible services and program structure. Assist and work in coordination with the broker to review insurance policies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support business unit requests for contract review related to insurance requirements and risk strategies. Coordinate with Global Risk Management team and legal, ensuring proper communication and support, for internal legal processes as well as external insurance partner notifications on various liability related claim matters.
- Function as a key resource for Corporate, Regional, and Operational business units on related insurance and risk management matters. Support collaboration regarding actuarial and audit activities as it relates to various insurance programs.
- Coordinate with accounting to ensure alignment on various insurance allocations. Build technical knowledge of the risk management insurance programs.
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelors’ degree in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related
- 7+ years of risk management / Insurance experience ideally with a solid foundation of insurance program and related claim dynamics. Experience in analyzing data, formulating risk program recommendations highly desired.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- The ability to work with internal and external resources to achieve a comprehensive program structure through collaboration, negotiation, and implementation.
- Experience working with external service providers/brokers.
- Been part of a risk management team, with experience in manufacturing, industrial, or other complex industry with a global network of operating subsidiaries, joint ventures, and partnerships
