About the Position:
This position's primary purpose is to support the Research and development team in the design, testing, and optimization of an innovative mixing process. It will also support specific project development needs by observing and analyzing experimental runs to evaluate how process changes affect compound processability and performance. This role will also establish new procedures to effectively document key experimental outcomes, organize and analyze compounding studies, and communicate results to internal product development teams.
This mid-level role is intended for a scientist or Chemical Engineer who is eager to apply technical knowledge in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute development activities aligned with the specific needs of ongoing projects.
- Observe experimental runs in the process to assess the impact of process modifications on compound behavior and performance.
- Design and implement new procedures or frameworks to consistently record critical experimental results.
- Regularly organize, submit, and analyze compounding studies as part of the benchmarking strategy.
- Clearly and effectively communicate compounding study results to internal customers, including product development and compounding teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with rubber compounding or mixing processes is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in an experimental/lab setting, collect process data, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying technical findings to cross-functional teams.
