Primary Purpose:
The Senior Accountant will join our Corporate Accounting and Reporting team and will provide general Accounting tasks to include clear/accurate information for managing and analyzing a segment of the business and various month-end close activities. This individual will contribute to the quarterly/annual consolidated financial accounting and reporting activities with a primary focus on U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings. In addition, you will serve as a liaison with regional Accounting teams, Investor Relations and FP&A.
Primary Duties:
- Perform financial reporting processes including, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statement close procedures. Prepare/Review account reconciliations for assigned accounts, functional analysis of balance sheet and various accounts.
- Assist the quarterly/annual preparation of the 10Qs/10Ks by assisting with preparing assigned footnotes and managing other quarterly requirements.
- Partner with various departments throughout Goodyear to implement effective financial analysis tools/procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of a broad-set of accounting principles/techniques (e.g., International Accounting Standards [IAS], United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles [U.S. GAAP], etc).
- Follow regulations for entering and reporting the financial content in major accounting systems.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 or more years of experience in Accounting and/or Financial Analysis.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working in an environment requiring analytical response to a variety of business issues - In a large accounting firm or large manufacturing organization - desired
- Masters degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA - DESIRED
- Demonstrated strong analytical abilities and a thorough understanding of GAAP
- Ability to interpret/apply current U.S. GAAP, accounting for complex transactions and internal controls in compliance with SOX
- Highly organized and ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
