Senior Brand Marketing Manager - New Product Launch

Akron - OH

 

Primary Purpose of the Position

This Senior Brand Marketing Manager position is responsible for driving the strategic development and execution of new product launch communication for all introductions within Goodyear's North America consumer tire portfolio. This role is accountable for understanding the brand's current and future product portfolio as well as consumer targets extensively in order to create innovative go-to-market strategies that bring the brand to life and enable effective consumer communication supporting North America (NA) growth objectives . This role leads long and short-term product communication strategies, marketing plans, and oversees all execution including agency management.

The role is on the Consumer Brand Marketing Team, but sits squarely at the intersection of multiple cross functional groups including Product Development, Category Management, and downstream Sales and Shopper Marketing. 

The position will have one direct report.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define strategy and develop/execute creative communication plans leveraging key touchpoints and vehicles to drive awareness and consideration in support of consumer new product launches each year.  Communication channels include television, audio, digital, social, etc.   
  • Lead process and oversee team and agency efforts utilizing:
    • Consumer Communication Contract (Brief)
    • Launch Tier Model
    • Product Launch Playbook
  • Collaborate with internal cross functional teams and external agencies to develop selling tools for the field sales group as well as national in store POS materials for US and Canada.  Lead strategy through creative development ensuring a consistent consumer experience throughout the purchase funnel.
  • Categories covered include: Commuter Touring, High Performance, Winter, and All Terrain
  • Manage consumer product marketing budget and demonstrate efficient and effective investment approach leveraging marketing mix learning and other available data sources including syndicated consumption data, market research, and competitive intelligence.
  • Measurement and post-activity analysis of in market executions required.
  • Additional Responsibilities Include:
    • Oversee existing relationships with various Driving Schools and identify new partnership opportunities to leverage FOC tires
    • Lead product integration opportunities in television and film properties opportunistically
    • Develop positioning and opportunities to leverage Sub Brands (e.g. Eagle) and Support Brands (e.g. Kelly)
    • OE support as required, and National Customer Conference engagement (development and presentation during event)
  • People Management - lead and develop a best in class team.  Invest time to identify and address personal as well as direct report developmental opportunities leveraging Goodyear culture, competencies, and core values as a guide.

 

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field

 

Experience

  • 7-10 years of experience in Consumer Marketing or related field
  • Knowledge of New Product Development Process and/or Stage Gate methods
  • Experience leading the execution of Marketing Plans, managing Budgets and managing Agency relationships
  • Prior experience managing others or leading a team
