Position Description: 

The Senior Credit Manager is responsible for managing and monitoring customer credit, analyzing key information and reports to make strategic and tactical credit related customer decisions. The Senior Credit Manager, along with their team, closely monitors the customer's financial situation, assesses their credit worthiness, establishes credit limits, negotiates resolution with past due accounts and assists in managing the overall strategy regarding risk assessment decisions for Accounts Receivable. The Senior Credit Manager is responsible for managing the efforts of a team consisting of Credit Analysts and Account Receivable Representatives to meet and exceed prescribed corporate and individual goals while promoting associate development and growth.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Establish credit limits and working with key customer contacts to maintain balances within limits while also supporting sales objectives. Coordinating with various sales teams, the Senior Credit Manager supports growth plans by providing accurate assessments and communicating customers’ financial capacity to both internal and external parties. The Senior Credit Manager would typically perform these responsibilities for mid-level exposure and mid-level risk accounts. 
  • Ensure compliance with credit processes as well as adherence to establish corporate policies and internal control over all facets of acquiring and maintaining security files.     
  • Monitor customers’ financial status taking appropriate actions to prevent potential bad debt via regular reviews of customer financial data which may be varying and complex in nature.       
  • Develop strategy and execute critical decisions regarding the initiation, continuation or termination of business relationships based on credit analysis and past payment performance, including leading the negotiation with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Support a strong performance management process that aligns individual objectives with business metrics and connects performance against those objectives.  


 Required Experience and Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree in a business field, accounting, finance, economics, etc.
  • Advanced Degree, MBA or other advanced Degree, along with credit certifications desired.
  • Minimum of 7 years of successful finance experience required.  5+ years of significant exposure to credit management functions, ideally in a large and global company.
  • Experience in credit assessments and analysis, involving varied and complex financial statements.
  • Experience in obtaining all forms of security documentation and guarantees (e.g. UCC filings, letters of credit, mortgages, insurance).
  • Proven decision-making negotiation skills. Experience in leading meetings and delivering financial and analytical data.


Personal Skills/Attributes/and Qualifications:

  • Excellent working knowledge and experience using Microsoft applications SAP.
  • Strong financial reports analysis and a good understanding of financial/credit indicators.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills being able to understand complex financial information and data.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, sense of urgency, high level of energy, enthusiasm and passion
