The Senior Director Enterprise Architecture will be responsible for working with senior business and digital leaders on the strategic evolution of technology roadmaps (across global functions) - Ensuring alignment with senior leaders (capital funding), business objectives and technology standards. This position is responsible to understand business processes (supported across functions and technology platforms), continuously evaluate technology trends and work with senior business leaders to define roadmaps which support short/long-term objectives (including process re-engineering, standardization, growth and cost efficiency). The incumbent plays a key leadership role in strategic cross-functional projects - Solving business problems and advancing the organization’s strategic objectives. He/She will lead the Business Relationship Managers, Technology Advisors and Solution Architects who support multiple business functions to plan and prioritize global demand, understand complex cross-functional business opportunities and offer solutions.

 

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

Strategic Technology Planning and Business Alignment Leader:

  • Work with members of the Senior Leadership team (SLT) and senior business leaders (globally) to align technology solutions with business strategies. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of multiple business areas and communicate/demonstrate how information technology (IT) solutions can create and return business value. Recommend alternative strategic supplier products/solutions based upon best practice research. Advise leadership on technologies which can solve cross-functional and complex business problems to advance the enterprise. Create/Evolve a five to ten-year technology roadmap in support of global functional objectives and work with senior leadership to secure funding.

 

Enterprise Demand Planning:

  • Work with the SLT and senior functional leaders to understand the strategic direction of the enterprise/function and plan and prioritize digital projects and investments which will meet business objectives. Participate as a key decision maker on strategic project steering committees. Ensure alignment with the global Digital Leadership team through the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) Operating Committee (OpCom). 

 

Trusted Technology Advisor:

  • Identify enterprise opportunities that align with corporate strategy and performance. Establish relationships with the SLT in order to provide technical solutions to meet business needs. Influence strategic initiatives. Assess business needs to determine alignment of unit/corporation and the impact on business processes to establish strategic priorities. Advise executive and senior leadership on options, risks and cost versus benefits. Stay abreast of technology trends and strategic vendor roadmaps, which will advance organizational capabilities.

 

External Global Peer and Supplier Benchmarking:

  • Build and maintain a global network with peer company and strategic partner executives to benchmark opportunities and best practices.

 

Technical Delivery and Governance:

  • Work with global IT systems, applications and products (SAP) center of excellence (CoE), operations, infrastructure, digital/peer and business leaders to align on delivery of strategic roadmaps. Guide/Govern all Business Process Architects, Principles, Solution Architects and Technology Advisors to ensure alignment of technology solutions (globally). 

 

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • 14 or more years of experience providing progressive technology leadership in enterprise and solution architecture
  • Track record of success with technology modernization and rationalization (including transforming technology architecture towards a cloud based, scalable, API/ Microservices based architecture
  • Experience providing technology architecture thought leadership (e.g., tool selection, standards, strategic direction, etc.) having functioned as an Enterprise Architect or Chief Architect within a large global organization
  • History of introducing new/emerging technology to disrupt business models
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Technology or a related field is required.
  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Technology or a related field is preferred.

 

KEY SKILLS

  • Expert in developing and maintaining the enterprise architecture framework, defining the organization's IT roadmap and ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Ability to identify, communicate and connect with key decision-makers and using strong influential skills, while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive and implement change
  • Demonstrated technical depth and understanding of holistic integration of software products and platforms with technology infrastructure toward delivery of digital services and products that enable business growth
  • Ability to create/maintain architectural models
