Senior Director Global Compensation and Benefits

 

The Senior Director Total Global Compensation and Benefits will drive the Global compensation & benefits strategy including the design, implementation, communication & administration of compensation & benefit programs aligned with the business objectives. In addition, this role will work with Americas leadership team, HR Business teams, labor relations & executives. Serve as the internal expert on the design, implementation & operational aspects of these programs.

 

Analyze Goodyear’s Comp/Ben programs on an on-going basis (including compensation programs at all levels) relative to market position, internal equity, and compliance & compensation philosophy. Prepare analyses, materials & recommendations to Senior Leadership.

 

Provide expertise, counsel and advice on global benefits program strategic design and process implementation. Ensure designs are globally aligned with corporate business objectives and follow a consistent global approach.

 

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Develop compensation & benefits plans and policies which influence individuals' actions in the direction intended by business plans. Assist in the design of non-executive incentive compensation & benefit plans to insure competitive levels both internally & externally.   

 

  • Assists in the review and recommendation of global healthcare and benefits strategy with global total rewards leaders and business leaders.

 

  • Own global compensation processes (bonus and merit) across the organization.

 

  • Develop supportive communication programs & ensure that management acquires a thorough understanding of sound compensation, benefits, and global mobility practices.

 

  • Work closely with Regional Total Rewards leaders to execute global strategies across all regions.

 

  • Provides exceptional customer service with solution-oriented mindset.

 

  • Collaborate with HR on various compensation topics, including preparation of individual associates' total compensation.

 

  • Establishes & maintains a systems of control reports that will enable top executive management & other appropriate management levels to evaluate the effectiveness of key compensation, benefit and global mobility plans and practices.

 

  • Lead, develop, and coach benefits team to design, deliver and sustain global solutions.

 

  • Counsel HR Business leaders, managers & employees regarding compensation & benefits. Consults with outside actuary on health care plan administration/programs and vendors.

 

  • Manage the compensation and benefit teams and the day-to-day planning/implementation of administrative processes, team development, and succession planning.

 

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • 10 or more years of experience in Benefits and Compensation (working in a large organization).
  • Broad business / functional experience working in multiple businesses/functions/roles, both with direct & indirect authority. Breadth of roles include setting global strategy and driving operational execution/results; including experience with union negotiations and building business cases.
  • Strong experience with benchmarking benefit policies/practices.
  • Strong external network to gather and exchange ideas/information and function as a sounding board for new and/or innovative ideas.
  • Bachelor Degree, advanced degree preferred.

  • Ability to develop materials and present ideas/recommendations at all levels within the organization to gain approval of programs/process changes.

  • Ability to analyze data using statistical methods/techniques/best practices with innovative mindset.
  • Strategic thinking - Articulates a compelling vision, energizes others, and shows them how they connect to it. Able to make complex decisions that balance short-term results with longer-term strategy.
