Goodyear is executing FACE (Fleet, Autonomous, Connected, Electric) strategy using IoT technology to revolutionize the new mobility space. To support this initiative, we are looking for an innovative electrical engineer with high energy to develop tire intelligence products and solutions to disturb ADAS and AV industry. The position will be a part of a global development team consisting of hardware, software, algorithm, and systems. A successful candidate would have strong experience in sensor and/or ECU development, preferably in the automotive industry. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced technologies in sensor, wireless communication, processing, and power to develop intelligent tires and complete end-to-end solutions    
  • Work with internal and external customers to specify the system requirement
  • Design and develop hardware and/or software for tire sensors and vehicle systems
  • Evaluate and select off-the-shelf electronic components 
  • Collaborate with suppliers and technology partners to develop custom products
  • Work in a cross functional team including tire engineering, manufacturing, and quality


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
    • Master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in sensors and/or ECU development in automotive or related industry
  • Product development and validation experience in electronic hardware and/or software 
  • Experience in electronic systems design and component specification 
  • Wireless sensor development experience (such as TPMS – Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems) is a plus


Skills & abilities:

  • Proficiency in electronics sensor and hardware development or proficiency in embedded software development 
  • Working knowledge of sensing elements and energy harvesters
  • Working knowledge of various analog/digital sensors
  • Working knowledge in worst case analysis, statistical analysis and risk analysis
  • Working knowledge of microprocessors and embedded programming
  • Familiarity with BLE, WiFi and RF communication protocol
  • Familiarity with CAN/J1939 
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing and MATLAB
  • Familiarity with automotive quality and safety standards
