The Goodyear Business Strategy department supports the Marketing, Planning and Customer Development organizations in supplying consumer shopper/business insights for the stakeholders - So, that they are able to make better strategic decisions. The Senior Manager, Category Insights will lead the development of a learning agenda to understand the business opportunities key stakeholders are facing. By having a key understanding of research methodologies and other principals, this position can effectively understand the issues and create a learning agenda. The role will be key in not only finding the insights, but be able to distill the "so what" out of those works.

The role is focused on consumer/shopper behavior within the categories Goodyear has identified. The role supports the business by providing strategic direction that leverages consumer knowledge and business acumen on business plans - While driving brand equity and business growth.

 

Primary Responsibilities #LI-JK1

  • Research Project Management:
    • Lead the planning/design of consumer research that leverages consumer insights (or where output is consumer facing). Lead annual research planning for assigned client base and lead design/execution of consumer research. Mastery of many research methodologies and educate others on methodologies. Become a trained moderator/facilitator.
  • Research Innovation:
    • Explore new research methodologies and introduce to new suppliers. Develop new ways of leveraging research to advance the interests of Goodyear.
  • Business Support:
    • Provide strategic direction (that leverages consumer knowledge/business acumen) for business plans (within the assigned business team). Drive brand equity and business growth. Field/Curate existing research as business opportunities are identified. Recommend action if new challenges present themselves.
  • Consumer and Shopper Advocacy:
    • Communicate insights. Advocate for the consumer and for Goodyear. Develop/Execute consumer empathy plans (for assigned teams). Identify opportunities (through the research) that could be areas of profitable growth for the organization going forward.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop budgetary requests and manage the research budget for assigned work team.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, Mathematics/Statistics or Psychology/Sociology/Social Science
  • 8 or more years of experience in Marketing Research, Consumer Insights or Shopper Research (preferably supporting a traditional Marketing or Innovation Function)
  • Experience and proficiency in multiple Consumer Insights testing methodologies
  • Experience in developing strategy and business-driving recommendations

 

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Masters degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, Mathematics/Statistics or Psychology/Sociology/Social Science
  • Experience managing others
  • Excellent written and verbal skills (with strong ability to present to various group sizes)
  • Ability to work well with others and participate in multifunctional work
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Sound business acumen
