About the Position

The Sr. Software Developer  is a well-seasoned Information Technology (IT) Professional, able to apply system-wide responsibility to complex components of a project. This person will be a member of the IT - Digital team helping it advance its mission the provide solutions for its eCommerce and B2B initiatives.  This person owns technical roadmaps for a number of digital solution(s) (B2B/Integration).  Specifies technologies (flexible Java or Microsoft stack), application architectures and data design as a basis for application development or platform customization. Produces and maintains all design documentation in line with organizational standards. Endorses solution design for deployment into the production environment.  Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective using existing solutions and modern technologies. Acts as a resource for team members with less experience by providing coaching and guidance.  This person can work independently and receives minimal guidance to drive advance and practical solutions to support business initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Solution Architects, Infrastructure Architects and other technical team leads to ensure any proposed solutions fully integrate with existing and developing architectural patterns. Designs both functional and technical details of applications. Produces high-level, detailed, technical design specifications.
  • Collaborates with project/product management team members to ensure designs and technical deliverables meet project objectives, product/platform roadmaps.
  • Monitors technical activity within projects highlights major issues and formulates solutions. Evaluates systems change proposals and ensure adherence to or adoption of the architecture and related strategy.
  • Evaluates work packages and provide recommendations on "build or buy" decisions.  Identifies and recommends vendors for the development and maintenance of assigned solutions areas.
  • Provides Advance support as required for assigned solutions area. May require after-hours support on elevated or complex issues.
  • Validates Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are clearly defined in contracts before handing off to Procurement.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Information Systems or Management Information
  • In lieu of degree 11 or more years of experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in relevant technical skills such as; building complex B2B, B2C, or integration platforms.
