Primary Purpose:

Leads and supports service delivery related to health and welfare benefits plans, including day to day administration, communication and vendor management. Partners with Benefits manager on design, implementation and legal compliance for benefit programs.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages Benefits Appeals process - investigates, researches, makes recommendations and prepares responses as required. Partners with Manager, Benefits and outsourced third-party benefits administrator to prepare equitable responses for associates.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining required legal compliance of benefits documents, filing requirements and participant notifications to ensure benefit program compliance.
  • Responsible for planning, developing and implementing strategic communication plans. Engages with applicable external and internal communication teams.
  • Monitors vendor process performance, reports issues and participates in implementation of resolution. Main contact for multiple health and welfare vendors.
  • Provides support for special projects within the Benefits department



  • Bachelors Degree
  • 4 years experience in HR
  • Prior experience within a union manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong management, analytical, planning and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of concurrent projects
