Responsibilities:

 

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading and driving the strategic alignment of programs and work streams (interdependencies included in the Global Operational Excellence Initiative: Balanced Scorecard, Loss Analysis, Organizational Development, Value-Driven Standardization, Network Optimization, Strategic Sourcing, Competitive Manufacturing and Demand-Driven Supply Chain). This position will drive the Master Planning Process to ensure alignment of Operational Excellence with Business Objectives for each strategic business unit (SBU).

 

The incumbent will lead communications between Program Sponsors, Workstream Leaders and Senior Management (across functions and regions). He/She must be able to communicate effectively at various level of the organization - At a high/summary and/or detailed/technical level.

 

This role is responsible to solve immediate problems - Must have the vision to foresee future issues and plan the appropriate action to ensure deliverables are achieved.

In addition, the Senior Program Manager establishes and drives consistent use of Goodyear’s (EPP) Stage Gate Processes and Toolkits (with support from the Global Project Management Office (PMO) Advisor.    

 

The responsibilities of the Senior Program Manager will include, but not be limited to the following:

 

  • Serve as a strategic liaison with Workstream Leaders and Global PMO Advisor to drive alignment/fulfillment of the Operational Excellence Objectives.           
  • Develop and maintain a Master Plan (portfolio of workstream plans).                
  • Manage and monitor overall program budget, timeline, milestones and benefits realization.      
  • Undertake creative strategies for contingency planning, issue resolution and risk mitigation. 
  • Develop and execute Program Management reporting (as required) for key stakeholders (Senior Leadership Team [SLT] and Operational Excellence Steering Committee).   

 

Professional Experience & Competencies:

  • 8 or more years of experience in Program Management (including 5 years of Goodyear experience)
  • Program Manager experience (managing at least 2 successfully delivered programs with a moderate/high risk and significant impact)
  • Global experience and understanding of how to work within different cultures
  • Demonstrated success with developing a staff
  • Ability to use Facilitation and Influence skills to drive success within a project
  • Ability to enhance and utilize an organizational network to increase effectiveness
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Excellent Analytical, Communication, Team-Building, Conflict Resolution and Risk Management skills
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary activities

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business is required
  • MBA and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
