Supply Chain Solutions Architect

Position Description:

This role is a key member of the Global Supply Chain IT team, and responsible for driving the overall architectural design for IT solutions within Goodyear’s logistics space. Specifically, you will facilitate the design, configuration, and implementation in the Supply Chain Logistics space to achieve documented business requirements by working closely with product owners and IT partners in a cross-functional and cross-platform manner (SAP and non-SAP solutions). They will act a as a subject matter expert in architectural related aspects ensuring the consistency of architecture across regions.  This role will proactively advise and contribute to the medium and long term architecture planning in co-operation with the Global IT Architect to support the Supply Chain strategy and road-map.

 

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Apply standards for all ongoing development and configuration, approve all technical solution by business process.
  • Evaluate cross-functional solutions together with other business process principals, advise project team in usage of standard procedures and tools, and implement new business strategies through configuration interaction and creation of programming specifications.
  • Provide knowledge transfer on current technologies to stakeholders and architects, as well as conduct cost/benefit analysis through evaluation of alternative design.
  • Assume leadership role in a medium size initiative by playing the key contributor, facilitator or group lead.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate and persist. Develop solutions to problems with unknown causes where precedents do not exist by applying logic and inference with creativity and initiative.

 

Required Experience and Education:

  • BA degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or in lieu of degree 12 years of IT experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT along with a Minimum of 3 years of SAP experience.

 

Personal Skills/Attributes/and Qualifications:

  • Strong capability to perform configurations and/or developments for SAP related applications.
  • Strong cross functional solution design capabilities across functions and applications
  • Ability to explore and implement new processes and technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a very good command of spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work flexible working hours as required on special occasions
