About the Position

This position, within Off Highway Product Development organization, will support the development of Off-The-Road (OTR) tires.  The candidate will work in a team environment, seeking solutions to technical challenges, and utilizing lean principles to enhance global standards and processes.


Primary Responsibilities    

  • Develop and enhance products, processes and methods that meet internal and/or external customer requirements
  • Contribute to the manufacture of quality products, and the enhancement of manufacturing processes
  • Translate product requirements into product design features
  • Work in a team environment towards bringing new product technologies to market
  • Strong communication skills [written/oral] in presenting data and information to others
  • An ability to interface and work with global regions of the organization, across multiple functions (product development, manufacturing, Quality)
  • Support plant trials for effectiveness and potential impact on product performance


Skills and Abilities

  • Practical understanding of science & technology to be applied to the design and analysis of tires
  • Proficiency in statistical design & analysis; cause & effect analysis; risk analysis; lean principles
  • Display data interpretation skills, and the ability to apply this skill to product development
  • Ability to accomplish assignments in a logical fashion, using existing technology and standardized methodologies
  • Basic organization, communication, and experimentation skills
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD (Solidworks, CATIA V5, etc.) software and their applications is preferred


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 4+ years progressive experience in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in Automotive or Aerospace product development preferred
