Tire Intelligence Algorithm Development Co-op / Intern 

The Opportunity

You will have the opportunity to be a part of the Innovation Technology team, supporting the technical development of Tire Information Systems, both for passenger car and truck applications. In this position, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of algorithms for next-generation tire/vehicle sensors.

Useful Skills and Abilities

  • Experience building sensor fusion algorithms based on data from tire sensors (intelligent tires) and automotive sensors (e.g., wheel speed signals)
  • Experience with MATLAB Simulink/Stateflow, dSpace rapid prototyping
  • Interest in signal processing, sensor fusion, statistical modeling
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and tire mechanics
  • Preferred experience with CarSim or other vehicle dynamics modeling software
  • Experience with Big data analysis tools such as Python programming

Requirements

  • Graduate student pursuing either a Master’s degree or Ph.D. degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA required
  • Prior engineering co-op/internship experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills
