Primary Purpose
As part of the Global Tech Process Excellence Master Data Team, this role will collaborate with Product Development, Government Compliance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Production Planning, to ensure an efficient, compliant, and error-free tire specification process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Train and support the North America and Latin America Product Development teams on SAP tire spec systems and processes.
- Assist Tire Plant associates with troubleshooting and resolving SAP spec issues (TP0, AP0, RP1)
- Provide data and reporting as needed to support the overall organization
- Support and back-up Spec Processors on daily tasks
- Lead implementation of new requirements and specification system changes for NA and LA regions
- Collaborate with IT developers on defining, testing and implementing changes to the Spec systems.
- Support Cooper systems dual maintenance tasks:
- Product code creation in RP1 SAP system
- Creation of Green Tire codes for Development and Production tires, OE and REPL codes
- Maintain alignment of data between Cooper and Goodyear systems
- Support Supply Chain teams with product information needs (labeling data,...)
- Maintain and refine the SCC networks and signoff procedures. Update for improved efficiency and global alignment.
- Support critical new enterprise level initiatives:
- Global Platform Design – re-use of carcass, casing and green tires
- Global Spec System – Alignment of Engineering BOM (eBom), Manufacturing BOM (mBom), and ERP and MES systems.
- PLM Teamcenter - global BOM structure and integration with X3D Tire Design tools
- Support the spec change processes across these systems to ensure data alignment
- Maintain documentation of data process flow, operating procedures, and system functionalities, including Cooper RP1 system and processes.
- Establish and deliver onboarding training for new associates.
- Work with the global Master Data Spec team to continue working towards ‘One Goodyear Way’
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or related field, required
- Master's Degree in mechanical engineering or related field, desired.
- 2 years of engineering experience
- Tire design, tire development, or tire manufacturing experience desired.
- Experience with TP0 Tire Specifications system and its components: SCCs, CTCs, MSL, FD/FT, and others
- Good knowledge of Tire Certifications and Government Regulations
- Experience working on a global team and global processes
- Candidate should enjoy both tire design and engineering, and with IT systems
- IT background or experience is an asset
