Primary Purpose
The Advanced Engineering Group of Race Tires is on the lookout for a dynamic associate who is eager to drive innovation in high-performance racing technology. This role is not just about maintaining the status quo but about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in race tire performance. The associate will delve into product characteristics, interpreting complex data like footprints and spring rates to inform design decisions. This is a hands-on position that requires a blend of technical expertise and creativity to meet the evolving demands of the racing industry.
Collaboration with top-tier racing organizations such as NASCAR and NHRA will be a cornerstone of this role, necessitating a fast-paced approach to data analysis and decision-making. The ability to travel (up to 50%) and engage directly with the racing and test events underscores the immersive nature of the position. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, ready to take ownership of their work and drive projects forward with minimal oversight.
Innovation will be at the heart of the associate's responsibilities, particularly in developing cutting-edge simulation programs and tire sensor technologies. Understanding and enhancing tire durability on the track, as well as crafting sophisticated wear models, will be key to achieving the group's ambitious goals. Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of current products and processes, applying sophisticated data analysis techniques to ensure they align with both internal standards and external customer expectations.

- Foster continuous improvement by refining current technologies and brainstorming novel concepts that could offer competitive advantages.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and product divisions, facilitating the commercialization of new technologies and ensuring they are market-ready.
- Regular domestic travel (up to 50%) to support the deployment of technologies and to engage with teams and stakeholders across various locations.
Required Education and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, required
- Masters degree in Engineering, desired
- Two years of relevant work experience
- Past experience in racing with an understanding of the dynamics and competitive aspects of the field
- MATLAB programming experience for data analysis, visualization, modeling, and programming in engineering and scientific fields
- Vehicle Dynamics as it involves the study of forces and motions in vehicles, which is crucial for roles in automotive engineering and related areas.

- Proficiency in statistical design and analysis of experimental data
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
- Exceptional communication and technical documentation abilities

- Experience in tire plant operations, specifically in mixing/component preparation and tire production processes, is advantageous
